Haven't snapped like that since Derek's house warming party but at least then I was able to calm down and I didn't hear those freaking gun shots either.

Actually, if I remember correctly...I'm pretty sure I met you like, ten minutes after that happened.

How long ago was that? It's felt like forever now.

I had no good reason to...

I thought today I might be able to do some good when I saw her, her first day on the job, she seemed really nervous when I walked in.

So I wanted to say nice things to calm her down, and ..well..I probably screwed up...so she rightfully got mad...

For a moment, I was just fed up with everything and took it out on her. I thought, "If I can't do this right, maybe I can just do wrong and feel better".

But, even as I said it, it felt wrong...and I was getting angrier because it wasn't working, that for once I wasn't on the receiving end and someone else had to deal with the consequences.

[Tears start to flow from his eyes]

When you slapped me, I realized just how much like my birth dad I was acting like, and wanted to die, rather then turn out like him.

But you have to try. Even when it seems hopeless, you have to try. Lenalee, my past life, she was fighting in this terrible war from the time she was a child. It was awful at first, because she was separated from her brother, and she wanted to run away. But it got better. She found friends and people she cared about. And even though the war was still terrible and getting worse, she was cheerful.

Life can be terrible. But it will be better. You just have to hold on until it is.

Sides, we had a flying castle attack the city with dragons and I tried to fight it...

Plus Derek has had ZIPPO people tell him his life was any different other then me. So guess how well THAT went down when he started to freaking hallucinate about our family and I happen to be around?

I'm not trying to make you feel better? I genuinely appreciate you telling me. I wouldn't have questioned things otherwise.

I must have missed the flying castle and dragons while i was trying to fix someone's memories. I take it you were not very successful?

Derek had at least one other person telling him his life had been changed, but he he shut them down almost as hard as he did you. But hey, feel free to yell at Derek for what a dick he was. I'm not going to stop you.

OH! you legit remember?

Sorry, I've been in a really dark place. I've been seeing my dead mom more in the last two months, then I have in the last four years. Hell, sometimes I would just hear gunshots no one else would.

So, how much do you remember of the last two months?

The city is still standing, so actually we did alright. It had cannons and built in chainsaws that tried to kill us. I didn't do much, but I tried. If a certain genie of mine would talk to me, I would have a better idea how to use my magic.

Oh did he now? Funny, he said the exact opposite and looked at me like a pest.

If that amnesiac bastard gets around to remembering...I have no idea what I'm going to do.

Yeah. I grew up in Recolle. I work at the crime lab. And I most definitely do not teach high school chemistry. Though I probably could.

The last two months are kind of... weird? I mostly remember what I was doing, but the details of the history I had, I guess you could call it, are a little patchy. Like, I don't remember any of the teachers I had in university the way I do right now.

Look, if he does remember, just talk it out with him. Give him a chance to apologize. If I know Derek, he's going to feel pretty bad.

Ya think so? Cause...it just hurts soo much...I can understand him not believing me. But to see our family, and reject them all just because he saw that I was in it? Then trying to blame me for seeing them in the 1st place? That's low, even for him.
